Delete Your uHaveControl Account
You can request deletion of your uHaveControl account at any time. We require this information to comply with Apple App Store and Google Play store requirements.
How to delete your account in the app
- Open the uHaveControl mobile app and sign in.
- Go to Settings (the gear icon in the bottom tab bar).
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Re-enter your password and type
DELETEto confirm.
What gets deleted
- Your username, email, phone number, password, and profile information.
- Your authentication tokens and active sessions on every device.
- Your push notification tokens and notification preferences.
- Your app-level user settings (theme, etc.).
- Devices and device groups you own as a ROOT user (these are removed when no sub-users or shared devices remain).
What is retained
- Audit log entries linking you to past actions are anonymized (your user reference is removed) but the events themselves remain for security and compliance purposes for up to 24 months.
- Backup copies created before deletion may persist on backup media for up to 90 days before they are overwritten in the normal rotation.
30-day grace period
To protect against accidental deletion and account hijacking, deletion is processed in two steps:
- Immediately on request: the account is deactivated. You are signed out of all devices, push notifications stop, and login is disabled.
- 30 days later: the account and personal data are permanently erased.
During the 30-day window you can cancel the deletion by logging back in to the mobile app — you will be given the option to restore the account.
Can't access the app?
If you cannot access the app to initiate deletion, email support@uhavecontrol.com from the address associated with your account. Include your username and a brief statement requesting deletion. We will verify ownership and process the request within 30 days.
